WINE Le Marche produces a large variety of wines including 13 varieties carrrying the DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata). Le Marche's pride is Verdicchio, the dry white wine made from the local grape with the same name. Two outstanding versions are Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Verdicchio di Matellica. The region also makes some outstanding reds eg. Rosso Conero, Rosso Piceno and Rosso Piceno Superiore. |
